The Game of Belegost:

	- a cool text adventure game
	- inspired by Tolkien's work
	- nice scanned pictures
	- freeware

OCSoftware just released the NEXTSTEP version of Belegost. The game
of Belegost is cool text adventure originally written years ago by
CYBEXLAB for ATARI ST. I've already ported this game for PSION
Series 3/3a; now I've finished the NEXTSTEP port. The application
is fairly big, as it contains a few nice truecolor scanned pictures
(by John Howe and Ted Nasmith).

* FROM THE STORY *

>>The underground town of Belegost was built in the foot-hills of
Ered Luin by the Naugrim folk (among people known as Dwarves) during
the First Age.

When the Dwarves were tunneling the domes and corridors of the new
city, they discovered Alqualamir, one of the most precious gems of
Middle Earth. The stone was not valued for its beauty as much as
for its power to heal injuries inflicted by the forces of Darkness.

The Dwarves lived in Belegost accumulating their wealth and adorning
their city for centuries until the dawn of the Second Age brought
Darkness as Sauron became the Lord of the Rings. One day, an awesome
troop of Orcs stood at the gates of Belegost. The Dwarves bravely
defended their city, but finally the tremendous enemy force
prevailed...<<

Supported architectures:
	NeXT, Intel, SPARC, HP

Supported software:
	NEXTSTEP 3.2 or higher (might work on older, untested)

The application was tested on white hardware with 8-bit color. It
is written with special care to be really portable, but you know
- any code contain some bugs. I am particularly afraid there might
be problems with readability of grayscale representations of the
pictures. Anyway, let me please know how (or at least if) it works
on your configuration.
