(This one works (-; ). XAnim Rev 2.70.6.4 by Mark Podlipec (c) 1991-1997 DESCRIPTION XAnim is a program that can display animations of various formats on systems running X11. The following features are sup- ported: -> Compressions 3,5,7,J(movies) and l(small L). -> Color cycling during single images and anims. -> Display Modes: depth 1-8, EHB, HAM and HAM8. + GIF87a and GIF89a files. -> single and multiple images supported. -> GIF89a animation extensions supported. + GIF89a animation extension support. + a kludgy text file listing gifs and what order to show them in. + DL animations. Formats 1, 2 and most of 3. + Amiga PFX(PageFlipper Plus F/X) animations. DISABLED TEMPORARILY. + Amiga MovieSetter animations(For those Eric Schwartz fans). + Utah Raster Toolkit RLE images and anims. + AVI animations. Currently supported are -> IBM Ultimotion (ULTI) depth 16. -> JPEG (JPEG) depth 24. -> Motion JPEG (MJPG) depth 24. -> Intergraph JPEG (IJPG) depth 24. -> Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM) depth 8 and 16. -> Radius Cinepak (CVID) depth 24. (see cinepak.readme) -> Intel Indeo 3.1 (IV31) depth 24. (see indeo.readme) -> Intel Indeo 3.2 (IV32) depth 24. (see indeo.readme) -> Intel Raw YUV (YUV9) depth 24. (see indeo.readme) -> Creative CYUV (CYUV) depth 16. (see creative.readme) -> Uncompressed (RGB ) depth 4. -> Uncompressed (RGB ) depth 8. -> Uncompressed (RGB ) depth 16. -> Uncompressed (RGB ) depth 24. -> Run length encoded (RLE8) depth 8. -> Editable MPEG (XMPG) depth 24. + Quicktime Animations. (see cinepak.readme) -> Radius Cinepak (CVID) GRAY 8. (see cinepak.readme) -> Intel Indeo 3.1 (IV31) depth 24. (see indeo.readme) -> Intel Indeo 3.2 (IV32) depth 24. (see indeo.readme) -> Intel Raw YUV (YUV9) depth 24. (see indeo.readme) -> Component Video (YUV2) depth 24. -> Photo JPEG (JPEG) depth 8 and 24. -> Kodak Photo CD (KPCD) depth 24. -> Microsoft Video 1(CRAM) depth 8 and 16. -> Supports multiple video trak's. -> Supports animations with multiple codecs. -> Supports merged and separated resource forks. + JFIF images. NOTE: use XV for single images. This is more for animation of a sequence of JPEG images. + MPEG animations. Currently only Type I Frames are displayed. Type B and Type P frames are currently ignored, but will be added in future revs. NEXTSTEP Notes * Build with NEXTSTEP developer 3.3pl1, and Xnext X11R6 libraries. * Since this IS an X11 app, you'll need an X11 Server for NEXTSTEP to use/view on a NEXTSTEP/OpenStep machine. The author, Mark Podlipec CAN distribute pre-compiled object-files for linking in support for these, but does NOT have a NEXTSTEP/OpenStep machine on which to do it. If anyone is willing to donate a machine to Mark or invite him to do it on a machine of yours, GREAT! Nope, I'm under NDA and can not send the source across the net to a remote machine that I have no control over. > or 2) Do you mean, actually giving you the machine? Yes, although usually a cross-compiler is the way to go. It's less effort on my part. Although having the machine means I have the ability to work on/improve audio support for that machine and can easily port/debug future codecs(but I'm so swamped right now, I wouldn't have time to learn a new machine until at least June or July). > I'm pretty sure you mean the latter (which, of course, I can't do), but I > am secretly hoping the former would suffice. Or... maybe... just maybe, > we could find some middle ground to be able to get the job done? I'm open to suggestions. Mark
