Lynx is a terminal-based WWW client program for those unwashed masses amongst
us who don't have access to Mosaic, Cello, or OmniWeb.  Accompanying Lynx is
a little script called next_lynx which launches lynx and loads Scott
Anguish's NeXT WWW server.

I didn't write Lynx--I just compiled it for the NeXT.  I might be able to
answer some simple questions on it, though.
