Welcome to solidThinking2.3, the advanced 3D environment for NEXTSTEP which lets you work in the most comfortable and intuitive way. Advanced tools and ease of use are finally joined together in a single application. Completely based on Pixar©s RenderMan, solidThinking provides unrestricted access not only for rendering but for every phase of the design process.

INSTALLING solidThinking
double-click on the solidThinking.pkg file

When you first launch it, the application will store additional information in the Library folder of your home directory, using two subdirectories: /Library/sThinking for permanent data like objects, attributes and additional custom objects, and /Library/sTFiles for temporary files like shadowmaps, etc. Be sure that /Library is accesible and that you haven't already used the above mentioned folders.


SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
To work with solidThinking RELEASE 2 you need a computer running NEXTSTEP 3.2 or higher. A resolution of 800x600 or higher is needed. We highly recommend a 32 MB RAM color CPU and a resolution of 1024x768 upwards. 

Default settings have been tuned for a 1024x768 resolution. With different resolutions you might prefer to change the template file (see Help on Line, "The user interface"). For more specifications on hardware supporting NEXTSTEP, please contact your dealer.
