The SUMERIS Accounting System
The SUMERIS Accounting System is a series of seamlessly integrated modules providing real-time accounting and business  management software. 

Designed in a multi-threaded client/server architecture, it supports multiple network users and distributed information is made available to all client applications anywhere in a network.
Network access to QuantaFlow is totally transparent accross Intel and NeXT computer platforms.

The SUMERIS Accounting System is specifically designed for NEXTSTEPTMand takes advantage of the ease-of-use and power of such an object-oriented operating system.

Installation

This version of QuantaFlow/InFlow runs on all NeXTâ computers. To fully install this DEMO version you will need the following file:
SUMERIS_Accounting.2.0v21.N.b.tar.gz

NOTE:
	A FAT version for both Intel & NeXT is also available :			SUMERIS_Accounting.2.0v21.NI.b.tar.gz
	
	A version for Intel is also available :	
		SUMERIS_Accounting.2.0v21.I.b.tar.gz


To complete the installation, you will need about 14 MB of disk space.

Then proceed as follows:

(1) Copy the file SUMERIS_Accounting_N_2.0_v21.b.tar.gz  on the hard disk of your computer and decompress it using gnutar/gzip command

	gnutar xfpz SUMERIS_Accounting.2.0v21.N.b.tar.gz 


This process will restore the following files:

	·	a folder, SUMERISModules which contains ressource files for the SUMERIS Accounting System.
	· SUMERISCountry_US.pkg a package which contains country specific ressources
	· QuantaFlow.app
	· InFlow.app
	· some other supporting files
	
A suitable place for the SUMERISModules is /LocalLibrary or ~/Library.
If you want to use the system over the network make sure the SUMERISModules folder can be accessed from a remote machine.

QuantaFlow.app and InFlow.app are the user applications. They should be placed in an Apps folder (/LocalApps, ~/Apps for example)

(2)  Install Country Related Ressources
The software cannot be run without installing tthe SUMERISCountry_US.pkg package. To install country related resources, double-click on the file package SUMERISCountry_US.pkg to bring up the NeXTSTEP Installer application. 

IMPORTANT: 
Install the package in the folder where the SUMERIS Modules are located (for example, set the Install folder as /LocalLibrary/SUMERISModules if the SUMERISModules folder is inside /LocalLibrary)



Using InFlow with the Demo Company

The first time you use InFlow and open the Demo Company accounting database, the system may request the location of this company's document folder location (if it cannot be found).
In this distribution this folder is called "DemoCompanyDocuments" and is unarchived with the SUMERISCountry_XXX.pkg . When the InFlow panel appears and asks you whether you wish to Create or Locate the company's Document Folder, choose Locate and select the folder DemoCompanyDocuments.



IMPORTANT DEMO INFORMATION

The demo version supports all QuantaFlow & InFlow features of the full version, but:

· some QuantaBase features are available in QuantaFlow and InFlow. These functions are available in the full release only if you own a valid QuantaBase license. An alert panel will indicate such features.

· some features in QuantaFlow and InFlow are only available provided you own the proper additional modules and licenses. An alert panel will indicate such features. One such feature is the ability to export and import Typed Transactions from a text file (in the standard version, only general transactions can be imported; typed transactions being exported as general transactions).

· With the DEMO versions, you cannot print QuantaReport documents (you can still print QuantaFlow reports). 

· The database demo version will not expand as more disk space is needed; therefore, you cannot create more than a predefined amount of information. Also, your database access is limited and you will not be able to open more than 2 accounting databases/companies at once; if you try to do so you will get a Server message like "no_such_table".
