BalancePro (The More then Metric Conversion Tool) OpenStep Version 4.2 by Eric Tremblay (ericet@cam.org, ericet@mac.com) Submitted to: ftp://next-ftp.peak.org/pub/openstep/submissions Should end up in: ftp://next-ftp.peak.org/pub/openstep/mach/apps/misc Contact Info: Comments and suggestions are welcomed: E-mail: ericet@cam.org WWW: http://www.cam.org/~ericet Intro: BalancePro is much more then a metric conversion program. This application will convert from SI (The International System of Units.) to the Imperial System and back. This application contains over 200 different conversions and functions. What's new: This application has grown a lot since the 2.0 NeXTStep version. It's now fully ported to OpenStep and the user interface has been completely revised. Note that Converter.app, (BalancePro's old name) was one of my very first NeXT applications I made in 1992. I rebuilt Converter from scratch mainly to be able to bring it over to the Macintosh (X), but I added so much stuff to it that I had to find a better name. BalancePro now has more functions then the older versions (1.0, 42 functions, 2.0, 68 functions, 4.2, 203 functions). I'm even thinking of releaseing it as shareware on the Mac. It's free for OpenStep folks. Contrary to my usual habits, I will not be releaseing the source code for BalancePro. The main reason being that it's not hard to program at all, you won't learn much from the source code but the research I've done to create this app is HUGH! Please be advised that every function has been tested but due to the very large number of conversions found in this application there's bond to be some bugs and errors. If you do find a bug please send me an email reporting the bug and the verifiable correction. I hope that you enjoy and find this program useful. See you on the Macintosh X soon!
